The heat is on and the flowers and grass are shriveling. It has been a pretty good summer weather wise. But now it is heating up and the pretty flowers and lush lawns need our assistance. We can water them and this will give them a boost and we can continue to enjoy the beauty of GOD'S gift of nature for us.
Now as I get older, I wish just a drink of water could revitalize one from shriveling and withering. I know we are told to drink water to keep us going, but what I mean is that will it make us straighter and bring back the beauty we had when we were younger? Wouldn't that be grand!
Shrivels is an odd word, don't you agree? But it is very descriptive! The main thing about shriveling is eventually death comes. It is important that we keep watered, it can be by actually water or other sustenance. Most importantly is the nourishment we can get from God, it can be from THE WORD, our actions with others and giving our very best in all that we do.
These things that I mention will make us revitalized and slow down the withering and shriveling. I know I will stand tall and continue on if I do read THE WORD, love my fellow man and attempt to do my best in everything. I have started to shrivel lately and I now realize it is time to continue on as GOD wants me too. I will be nourished with GOD'S Word, reaching out to others and doing my best! Try it, you too may like it!

A great post. Well thought out theologically and indeed full of undeniable truth. Yes, "we all do fade as a leaf; and our inequities like the wind have taken us away." Isaiah 64:6
